The Royal Academies for Science and the Arts of Belgium (RASAB) has recently been formed as an umbrella organization to handle international affairs for the two academies on science and the arts in Belgium: the "Koninklijke Vlaamse Academie van Belgiî voor Wetenschappen en Kunsten" or Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts; and "Acadèmie Royale des Sciences, des Lettres et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique" or Royal Academy for Sciences, Letters and Arts of Belgium.

The presidency of RASAB alternates each year between the president of the French speaking Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Belgium and the Dutch speaking Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts. Both Academies are the relevant constituent bodies of RASAB, which acts as the representative of Belgium to international organisations such as IAC, IAP, ICSU.
