Dr Radia Sia joined the IAP Secretariat in March 2017 as ‘Project Developer’. She has a PhD in experimental high energy physics from Syracuse University in New York, USA, and a graduate diploma from the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy.
Radia has held various technical and managerial positions in the USA and France such as: Syracuse University (New York) in collaboration with Fermi National Laboratory (Chicago, Illinois), Cornell University Wilson Lab (Ithaca, New York) and CERN (Switzerland); senior staff scientist at Radiation Monitoring Devices Inc. (a Dynasil company and world leader in innovative technologies for nuclear radiation detection); and was in charge of research and development at Areva, a world leader in nuclear power and renewable energy.
Before joining IAP, Radia was a founding partner and managing director of Clever Operation (S.A.S.), an innovative start-up company based at Paris-Saclay (known as the “French Silicon Valley”).
She has experience in fund-raising as well as the coordination and management of projects, programmes and partnerships in areas such as research, health physics, defence and homeland security, energy and aerospace at the international level within large multidisciplinary environments, and has established and developed many new programmes involving a large number of academic, research and industrial partners.
She is the principal author of over 30 peer-reviewed papers and co-author of more than 160 scientific articles.
