Biography

Madhur Anand is an internationally-recognized scientist in the fields of biodiversity and conservation, forest ecology, and ecological modelling. She has held two Canada Research Chairs, visiting professor/scholar positions at McGill University and Princeton University and currently directs the Global Ecological Change laboratory at the University of Guelph. Her research has won several awards and attracted funding from national and international sources and the private sector. She was named top 40 under 40 for the city of Guelph in 2010 and received the Young Alumni Award of Merit from the University of Western Ontario in 2006. Author or co-author of over 60 scientific articles and the book "Climate Change Biology" (CABI Scientific Publishing), she is also a published poet and has co-edited "Regreen: New Canada Ecological Poetry" (Your Scrivener Press). She serves as Subject Matter Editor for the journals "Ecosphere" and "Community Ecology".
