The Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ANUBiH), the highest scientific and artistic institution in the country, was founded in 1951. The Academy is divided into six departments: social sciences; medicine sciences; technical sciences; natural sciences and mathematics; literature; arts. ANUBiH has 54 elected members. The departments are authorized to assemble formal work groups to study and evaluate various aspects of scientific and artistic activities. ANUBiH publishes several periodical editions.
