The Royal Scientific Society (RSS) was established by a Royal Decree in 1970 as a national, non-profit, non-governmental, applied research institution designed to support the continuous socio-economic development of Jordan. RSS is Jordan's premier applied scientific research institution with over 45 nationally and internationally accredited laboratories, supplied with advanced equipment in the fields of electronics, environment, industrial chemistry, building technology, mechanical design and technology information technology, and metrology. RSS employs around 650 professionals and staff, and enjoys strong links with well-reputed scientific and academic institutions and international organizations. RSS mission is to be the local and regional reference point and knowledge leader for science and technology using scientific and engineering research to power economic development and social progress.
