The IAP Conference and General Assembly takes place every 3 years and is hosted by one of the IAP member academies. Previous IAP Conferences and General Assemblies were held in October 1993 (Population Summit, India), May 1996 (Habitat II Forum, Turkey), May 2000 (Transition to Sustainability, Japan), December 2003 (Science for Society, Mexico), December 2006 (The Unity of Science, Egypt). Information on these past events can be viewed online at IAP Meetings.

Organization
The meeting is organized by IAP in collaboration with The Royal Society. The Royal Society is hosting the event in January 2010 as the launch for its 350th Anniversary Celebrations.

Participation
Invitation to attend the Conference and General Assembly is extended to all IAP Members and a selected number of distinguished personalities from developing and developed countries. Participation in the events is by invitation only.

Venue & Official Language
The IAP Conference and General Assembly 2010 will be held in London, UK at the headquarters of The Royal Society.  The official language of the event will be English.
