IAP will review existing reports prepared by scientific organizations on genetically modified organisms as part of a larger effort to assess the full range of thinking in this field.

Latest Activities:
- The Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities has made available to IAP members two reports that were formulated on occasion of an International Workshop on GMOs held in Berlin on 26-27 May 2006. The first report focuses on the relationship between consumers' health and consumption of GMO food and the second deals with GMO insect-resistant crops in developing countries. - The Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities has drafted a statement on GMOs that will be discussed in the upcoming IAP EC meeting on 1 December 2006 in Alexandria, Egypt. - The Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities, lead academy for the initiative, has collected 240 publications on GMO crops. The reports have been produced by The Royal Society, ICSU, US National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy, Australian Bureau of Agriculture, UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), and other national and international organizations.
