"Capacity Building for Academies in Africa" was the theme of an InterAcademy Panel (IAP) workshop

held in Trieste, Italy, 16-18 May 2001. Approximately 40 participants, including four African ministers of

science and technology, attended the meeting, which marked the first InterAcademy Panel activity to

take place in Trieste since the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) was selected to host the IAP
secretariat last June. Click here for the rest of the artical.
