The Academy is divided into two sections - humanities and science. It also houses the Centre of the Albania Encyclopedia, a project management group, a department of foreign relations and a library. The functions of the Academy are to: carry out studies and research in various fields of science; oversee the opening of new scientific fields; cooperate with other scientific institutions; support the participation of the scientific societies and foundations in scientific activities; organize science-related national and international activities.
